Our financial literacy and inclusion activities focus on helping people feel more confident and in control of their money in everyday life. Through practical and accessible training in school and community settings, we support individuals, families, and cooperatives to learn how to budget, save, borrow responsibly, and plan for the future. The programs are designed to reflect local realities and are delivered with community partners. By building these skills, AMF-Cufa helps strengthen household resilience, support micro-enterprise, and create better opportunities, particularly for women, young people, and others who are often left out of the financial system.
AMF-Cufa partners with Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU) to deliver community-oriented, professional development workshops for credit union professionals.
The goal is to build leadership skills and strengthen understanding of cooperative and mutuality principles, credit union philosophy and international development issues while addressing the challenges mutuals face today.
Participants from across the Asia-Pacific region share their learning within their communities, fostering knowledge exchange.
ASPIRE is our global award winning program which improves the livelihoods of people in rural Cambodia by facilitating entrepreneurial opportunities in communities.
We support the establishment and sustainability of cooperative social enterprises, with a strong focus on empowering women entrepreneurs, promoting social inclusion and strengthening community capacity through technical, business and financial literacy training.
Inclusion is a key objective of ASPIRE. We work to foster more inclusive community and governance practices by encouraging participation of women and people living with disabilities in local authority meetings to share their experiences.
A collaborative project with Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU) supports the development and growth of savings and credit unions in Laos and Timor Leste, improving access to affordable financial services.
We also aim to strengthen financial literacy skills of the community for socio-economic empowerment and reinvest credit union members’ savings back to their communities to increase income, improve livelihoods and help alleviate poverty.
AMF-Cufa partners with Australia’s leading child protection charity Barnardos Australia to support a range of programs for children and youth at risk of abuse or neglect, or experiencing disadvantages in areas such as housing, healthcare and education.
We support key programs including Beyond Barbed Wire, which provides support and mentoring to incarcerated Indigenous mothers as they transition back to their families.
We continue to support communities in times of emergency and disaster whenever a natural or climate-related disaster, including bushfire, flood, earthquake or cyclone, is declared by the Australian Federal or State Governments.
Your support will help the social and public welfare of affected communities and to assist their recovery from these disasters.
